Timeless

Chinatown Complex, built in 1981, has one of the largest hawker centres in Singapore. One of the prominent stalls sells cheap beverages and desserts, that are popular among the locals.

Chinatown is home to many traditional shops, including the Teck Soon Medical Hall, which was founded in 1963. Over the years, they have been selling Chinese herbs and giving consultations for patients.

Down the bustling streets of Chinatown, many food stalls, souvenir shops and indie boutiques are located, selling cuisines, handicrafts and clothing related to the Chinese culture and history.

Thian Hock Keng Temple is not only a living-monument but also an architectural masterpiece which was established in 1839 and is Singapore’s oldest Chinese temple. Early Chinese immigrants came here to give thanks for their safe passage across the vast waves of the South China Sea.

A Trip Down the Memory Lane

Haw Par Villa has always been one of my most visited places with my family when I was young! I remember being scared of the statues in the past, but I now enjoy visiting the place as I find the stories behind the statues interesting and am eager to learn more about them!

A dollar buys not just a packet of fish food, but also an engaging yet relaxing time feeding the fishes and terrapins swimming in the various ponds scattered around Haw Par Villa. It is a great way for everyone to have some fun and unwind!

My favourite statue is that of Jiang Zi Ya, as I have read fascinating stories of him before. Capturing the memories made during the visit to a place that has brought us much joy is a must! Such fun experiences will no doubt bring a smile to our faces. Come down here to have an unforgettable experience!
